The mission of the I-DIEM Global Africa Division is to strengthen climate resilience in Ghana by advancing inclusive, community-centered solutions that reduce risk, build capacity, and promote sustainable development. We are committed to supporting national and local partners in addressing climate-related hazards through equitable systems, data-informed decision-making, and investments that empower the most impacted populations—particularly women and youth—as leaders of climate action.
Our approach to climate resilience in Ghana is grounded in collaboration, capacity-building, and practical implementation. I-DIEM Global works alongside government agencies, universities, NGOs, traditional authorities, and community leaders to co-design and deliver solutions that reflect local knowledge while integrating global best practices. Through targeted training and education programs, we equip practitioners, students, and community members with the skills needed to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to climate risks. We provide hands-on technical assistance that supports climate planning, risk assessments, workforce development, and the application of emerging tools—including data, AI, and technology—to improve outcomes at the community level. Central to our work is a sustained investment in women- and youth-led programming, recognizing their critical role in innovation, leadership, and long-term resilience. By centering equity, partnership, and action, the I-DIEM Global Africa Division is helping build resilient, adaptive, and prosperous communities across Ghana.
The Ghana Climate Centre of Excellence will stand as Ghana’s premier hub for climate relations, innovation, and capacity-building, redefining how communities, institutions, and nations prepare for and respond to climate risk. Launching in March 2026, the Center will serve as a dynamic ecosystem for climate training and education, AI and technology integration, immersive tours, and hands-on technical assistance, while advancing workforce development pathways that equip the next generation of climate and emergency management leaders. Anchored in the principle of Sankofa—learning from the past to build a resilient future—the Center will foster local and global partnerships, support applied research, and deliver real-world solutions across Africa and the Global South. It will also proudly serve as the home of the Youth Climate Corps, empowering young leaders with the skills, tools, and experiences needed to drive climate action, innovation, and sustainable development at scale.
The Ghana Youth Climate Corps is a bold, fully immersive pilot initiative designed to serve as a global model for cultivating climate leaders and Youth Climate Ambassadors worldwide, positioning Ghana at the forefront of youth-driven climate action. Anchored at the I-DIEM Global Sankofa National Climate Center of Excellence, the Corps will engage young people in intensive climate resilience training, hands-on experiential learning, and real-world problem solving, paired with mentorship from global experts and local practitioners. Through strong collaborative partnerships with communities, educational institutions, government, and the private sector, participants will deliver immediate, measurable impacts on community resilience across Ghana—while building lifelong leadership, technical, and advocacy skills. This transformative program will empower a new generation of climate champions equipped to advance resilient, equitable, and sustainable futures for decades to come, in Ghana and around the world.
The I-DIEM Global National Climate NGO Collaborative is a strategic, multi-sector platform uniting NGOs, universities, government agencies, and community leaders to advance knowledge sharing, coordinated action, and collective impact for more climate-resilient futures across Ghana and beyond. Designed to break down silos and elevate local expertise, the Collaborative fosters meaningful partnerships that translate research, policy, and community insight into practical, scalable solutions. At the heart of this effort are the monthly NGO Collaborative Calls, which serve as a consistent forum for peer learning, shared problem-solving, partnership development, and alignment of resources and initiatives. Through these regular convenings, members exchange best practices, highlight emerging challenges, and co-create strategies that strengthen community resilience, amplify impact, and build a unified national voice for climate action grounded in equity, inclusion, and sustainability.
